Writing

Writing seems to be an integral part of every subject now a days and many students simply do not like to write. Here are some simple suggestions:

  • Have them write what they remember about the day (having inside recess, playing a game in gym, or simply what they had for lunch). It doesn't have to be long but if they write every day it will certainly give them practice.

  • Let them choose a toy or an animal and have them describe it. Example: "Our dog has a black spot with long ears. He runs very fast."

  • Ask him to write a list of what his favorite songs are or books or simply characters in a movie and have him substantiate them, as to why do they like these characters.

Encourage your child to write everyday and when it comes to writing at school it will become second nature.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay out of the snow.
