It seems everyone is learning about angles in math so I am here to help with a few suggestions.
Help your student by using their arms as angles ....
- For a right angle, they can stretch her left arm straight up and her right arm straight out to her side.
- An acute angle is smaller, so have them move their arms closer together
- An obtuse angle is larger than a right angle, so they could move their arms wider apart.
- Next, see how many angles your child can find in the alphabet. Have them print all 26 uppercase letters on a large sheet of paper.
- Together, look for angels in the real world. Right angles will be easier to find – they’ll be in corners of rooms where one wall meets another, on window frames, or at the edge of a square sandbox.
Just have fun with this project and your child will be proud of how many angles they can find.
Have a great weekend and just enjoy each other,
Principal Schultz
