Just ask our students, summer is right around the corner

Dear Parents,

This is a reprint from our DARE officer in Darien. I thought it was important enough for all of you to make sure everyone is aware and safe during our summer break, believe it or not it is right around the corner.

Kids:
Don’t approach a stranger for any reason
Call 9-1-1 Immediately to report the incident
Try and remember the license plate number of any car that approaches you, but don’t put yourself in harm’s way to do it!
Use your cell phone to take a picture of the car / person if you can
Always tell your parent / guardian if a stranger approaches you
Always cross the street at a corner, drivers expect to see you there, not in the middle of the street

Adults:
Be aware of Children playing; please obey the Neighborhood Speed Limit of 25 MPH!
Make sure that you close and lock all doors when you are leaving your home.
Do NOT leave iPods, GPS Units, Cell Phones, other electronics, or their cradles in view in your vehicle; they are very tempting for thieves.
Make sure that you carry your cell phone with you at all times when out in your neighborhood, you never know when you will need to call 9-1-1

Open House

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time out of their busy schedule to come last night to our spring Open House. We had a wonderful turnout on a beautiful night. It was extremely nice to see all of you and to see the excitement on our students faces as they showed everyone their special projects. I would also like to thank everyone who worked the book fair; you were all terrific and we ceratinly sold many, many books! But a special thanks to those who contributed
on Hunter's behalf; giving away the ice cream was also our way of giving back to all of you who have been an interagal part of our family.

Have a lovely weekend, Principal Schultz
